Skincare Tips For The Harmattan (Dry) Season

  •  Don’t take hot showers or baths: Hot water decreases your skin’s moisture. Instead, take baths with warm water and don’t waste time in the shower.

Moisturize: this is an important process to be done regularly. If you wash your hands during the day, apply a moisturizing cream right after saves you from having cracked skin

  • Skip the lotion and use a cream. Lotions can be more irritating and less effective than creams for dry skin. When selecting a cream, look for one that contains an oil such as olive oil or jojoba oil, or one with shea butter.
  • Exfoliate. Use a light exfoliating scrub to get rid of the top layer of dead skin cells which will occur more rapidly this season and expose newer healthier-looking skin.
  • Apply lip balm. Get yourself a lip balm that works best and also feels good on your lips.
